2009 NK District 2 Softball Champs!!!

Scott has been coaching Taylor's softball team for about 9 years now. In the 9 years they have only won 1 game once they reached the district playoffs. This year we were hoping for a different outcome. Boy did our wish come true!!! We had an amazing group of girls that came together and played exceptionally well. It was so exciting to see them succeed in their game after their weeks and weeks of practice.

Although we didn't do as well as we would have like to once we made it to State, the girls all had a great time and walked away satisfied with their District win....this year!

The Graduate - 2009

It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing Adam home from the hospital. Now here he is finishing Kindergarten. He had a great first year. He learned so many things and his teacher Mrs. Davalos was the BEST. All the kids voted and nicknamed the class the All Day Kindergarten Raccoon Class at Breidablik Elemantary.

This year Adam learned to count to 100 and beyond, read, basic math and many other valuable skills. I'm sure his kindergarten years is one that he won't soon forget.

When did our little girl grow up?!

The end of Taylor's 8th grade year marked the beginning of many firsts for me and Scott. Taylor's school hosts a semi-formal each year and Taylor and I did our very first dress shopping. We went with my sister and the 3 of us all agreed on a dress. I was even more excited when I found out it was 50% off!!!

Taylor came home from school on Friday and we began getting her ready! Taylor is an on-line junkie and googled "How to get ready for a formal" It had all instructions starting with showering, shaving legs, applying lotion etc....... It was actually pretty cute! We then sat and curled her hair, applied make-up and painted finger and toenails.

When we went outside and I was watching her pose for the pictures it made me realize that my little girl is all grown up. We won't even mention the fact that she is now taller than me! It was a lot of fun helping her get ready for her very first dance. I'm sure it won't be the last either. But for now, I was excited to be with her and see her off to end her time at the Junior High and watch her get ready for her High School years.

Where does the time go........

I found this picture recently and love looking at how my children have grown and changed. It's hard to believe that they were so small. Especially Adam. Looking at those chubby little cheeks makes me miss that baby stage so much. But, I also love the other stages since then that we have come upon. Each phase of their life has brought joy, laughter, frustration and excitement for what's yet to come. My children all bring something different to our family and I can't imagine life without them. I am truly blessed to have 3 beautiful children!

The Happiest Place on Earth....

Scott and I have been married 16 1/2 years to be exact and in that time we haven't had the chance to get away very often. In February Scott went down to California for a umpire clinic then I flew down at the end of the week to join him. We spent 5 days together at Disneyland and had the BEST time.

After we came home I realized that we really can't let so much time pass between getaways. They are way to special and important in maintaining our Happily Ever After!

Brett's 12!!!

Where does the time go? It's 2 months (well, almost 3) past Brett's birthday and I am just getting around to posting pictures from his birthday. He wanted to go try his hand at rock climbing. So off to Vertical World with a group of boys and had a great time. Scott, Blaine and Sherry all took the belaying test and were able to assist all the kids in their climbing.

When we arrived Adam was sure he was going to love climbing. After he got about 1/2 way up he wanted to come down but was too scared to let go of the "rock". It took about 5 minutes to talk him down. Surprisingly enough after he came down he wanted right back up again and after about 1/2 way up wanted to come down but was afraid and the whole process of coaxing him down started all over again. He did it a total of 4 times before he said, "NO MORE"

It was fun watching Brett have such a good time. It's amazing to me he is 12. It seems just like yesterday that we were bringing home our sweet Brett Boy from the hospital. You are growing into such a kind, considerate, responsible, loving, handsome brother and son. I am so proud to be your mother and look forward to continuing to watch you grow and mature.

SNOW, SNOW and MORE SNOW!!!!

Our first major snowfall of the year, or should I say the end of the year. The kids woke up to a fresh blanket of snow and could not wait to get outside to start playing. What do you do when you have this much snow (about 4") with another 6-10" forecasted for the day?

You build an igloo of course!

Scott, Taylor, Brett & Adam all went over to our good friends and neighbors The Wilson's and spent the ENTIRE day building the igloo. It turned out awesome and they all worked so hard.

Here is a picture of the finished product. It looks very authentic with the glow, almost like someone is really living in it.

Once the igloo was complete my boys began begging me to let them have a sleep over in the igloo. Of course my first response was "are you CRAZY?!?!" After much convincing that the igloo would not collapse and that the boys needed to have this kind of experience I gave in. We bundled them up and I left for my nice, soft, warm bed.

When Brett called the next morning I was anxious to hear how their night went, to see if they made it through the night outside. Brett then told me that he woke up about 3am and felt that something was not quite right and thought he could hear the igloo dripping. He felt like he needed to get Adam and Brandon out of the igloo and into the house. (Nathan went into the house a earlier because the snow was dripping on him) Brett said that within minutes of getting them into the house the whole igloo collapsed. Luckily no one was hurt and in the end it turned out to be a good learning experience for Brett. He felt good that he could take care of his brother and friend and that he not only listened to the still small voice that woke him up but he acted on it as well.
